Your Thursday Three Things for August 21, 2025
The Aftermath of Success
Most of us think the hardest part is getting there… becoming a Navy SEAL, winning the medal, getting the promotion, hitting the milestone.
But here’s the thing no one tells you: once you arrive, you can feel more lost than ever.
This week, I want to share three lessons about what happens after the big achievement and how to navigate it well.
1. The Goal Isn’t the Finish Line
Olympic athletes, entrepreneurs, military veterans, and many others eventually learn the same truth: reaching the goal doesn’t end the journey. It just shifts it. If you don’t prepare for life beyond the peak, the “high” can fade into emptiness.
2. Curiosity Beats Clinging
Holding onto yesterday’s identity keeps you stuck. Curiosity about what’s next sets you free. Ask yourself: If I weren’t defined by my past, what would I be curious to learn now?
3. Resilience Lives in Transitions
It’s not just the battles that shape you. It’s the rebuilds, the pivots, the reinventions. Your ability to step forward when the old chapter closes… that’s a true measure of resilience.
